If you run your own Facebook group and you teach or demo your craft, yo need to pay attention. Facebook are joining in with the e learning craze by introducing Facebook units into groups. If you want to explore the option change your group settings to ‘school/class’. This is going to be an amazing way to add value to your groups!
Plus have you see Facebook page recommendation button? Unfortunately I am hearing that the page isn’t being notified when it is used.
It’s wonderful to see such a lovely handmade business story in the news in the aftermath of an awful few weeks. Handmade business owners really are special!! The #aheart4mcr campaign was the brainchild of Beth Clarke from Marple, Stockport. It’s a real shame they only say ‘her craft business’ and don’t give it the mention she deserves though!

Google loves art!! Google can now help you become an art boffin, with virtual museum visits and with an in depth interactive Knowledge Panel on an artist that will show you where you can see a collection of the artist’s works or even scrolling through the museums where you can view the paintings on the wall. While this is wonderful, the part of the article that caught my eye is why Gogle loves art so much, it’s because we do! ‘each month, there are more than 500 million art-related searches on Google.‘
WOW!!! Now that opens up a world of possibilities!!
Alison owner of The Fabric Cabin
Alison discovered her love of sewing and fabrics at school when she created my first pillow. Since then she has had a wonderful family whilst still finding time to sew and create beautiful things for her home. Then she realised she could turn her passion into a business…
Alison says: “I have turned my love of sewing and fabric into a business helping others create their own projects by supplying Fabric and Haberdashery and from that The Fabric Cabin was born. Within the next year I want to be able to provide classes to help with those projects you just not got round to or have trouble finishing – online or in person.
You can find Alison here on Facebook or take advantage of her generous 10% discount just for A Handcrafted Business readers at her eBay store. I know where I am off to now!
